Boedicea

Or Boudicca - Queen of the Iceni. Following the death of her husband who had left his kingdom partly to Rome and to his daughters, the Romans invaded them and raped the daughters and beat Boedicea. This totally incensed the Iceni who revolted against Roman rule and went on a killing rampage. This episode is recounted in the section on the Roman invasions. Boedicea committed suicide in 62 A.D.
