Catuvellauni

The most powerful tribe in Britain before and during the Roman invasion. Located in the south Midlands, they were beaten by Julius Caesar in 54 B.C but eventually regrouped under Cassivellaunus and founded a new capital at Verulamium ( St Albans). They were not totally subdued by the Romans until about 60 A.D.
