King of Scotia ( c 954 - 1034 ) ( r 1005 - 1034 ). Son of Kenneth II. Gained power by killing Kenneth III. He fought the English at Carham and thereby regained Lothian. In 1031 Cnut invaded Scotland and forced Malcolm to submit.
