Odo

Bishop of Bayeux ( 1049 ) ( d 1097 ) and stepbrother of William the Conqueror. Made earl of Kent following the Norman conquest and regent in William's absence. Imprisoned in 1082 for reasons unknown. Raised opposition to William II and returned to Normandy. He became a servant of Robert Curthose, the new duke of Normandy, but was killed on the first battle. It is thought that Odo was responsible for the commissioning of the Bayeux tapestry.
