Battle
of Hastings 1066 Re-Enactment -
October 16th 2005
Image 1

A view towards the
north. The south facing abbey wall can be seen in the distance.
Harold II had the high ground at the commencement of battle,
but finally succumbed to the relentless charges of William's Norman
horsemen by late afternoon. For identification purposes, the right
side of this image leads to Upper and Lower Lake roads. Behind me is Powdermill
Lane.
